andrew, final shape minus environmental details and weathering

i noticed a lot of our characters are pretty minimal on the "accessories." i know a big part of my silhouette for this was the plants growing all over it but then i thought on sunday it might look strange if you couldn't see much of his anatomy. So i did a study of it minus the pizza toppings. And you know what? i actually LIKE IT.

I'm tempted to just colourise this bad boy so i can move on.

i'd still show all the plant versions before. but i'm posting this here in case anyone thinks this is a horrible idea. in which case ill draw the plants all over him then repaint.

so here it is. my little bat-bug before he becomes ferngully.

Sophie progress

This is very not done, the rock things on his back I still need to figure out, but for now:
 shoulder plates, Y/N?

Jack: FINAL IMAGES-11x17 Printed Out

andrew, almost ready to paint! but first. some new plants

SO i applied the notes i got from everyone on Sunday (including Peter).

I shrunk the face.
made the top more full of plants.
increased the size of the limbs so it's less cute.
gave it a butt in some cases.

i think i'm feeling B11 and B12. the plants are a little different in B7 cuz it's more like some alien agave with stringy stuff between whereas the rest are pretty much little palms with vines.

Updated template size

The altered print size is now 17 x 11. Find PSD file below:

Jack Design with Template WIP

Post Template

Hey guys I uploaded the template I made on google drive! here're some variations. I don't know if we're going with full white or a grey.

here's the link to the PSD file.

I used my power source symbol and my name as a place holder. There's a mask layer where you can adjust the flag colors.

Sophie Design 1st pass

Eyyyyyy guys,
so since last time, I wanna expand more on the four legged mech/ centar idea, and I want my design to be chunky-er to differentiate from everyone else. I want to achieve a slow-moving, heavy character. But I don't think they're quite there yet....

I picked some of my favs, (the first one is 2 legged but I liked the proportion) and I'm gunna try make them more detailed. parts of the mechs is going to be stones + a lot more rough edges on the armor instead of the smooth lines.

Refined Lines

Narrowing down choices and refining lines. I was leaning towards the same ones Andrew mentioned, so I flew with them.

ANdrew, silhouette progress.

This is the last round of black splotches i'll submit before going into line. I tried to rework some of the critters you gaiz liked and did a couple new ones. I was trying to think about the different roles they would have in the ecosystem if any.

Jack Winter Knight Mech WIP

Rendering my knight, let me know if there's anything I need to fix or anything I should consider! Work in progress.

Collette - Silhouettes 2 and Line Sketches

I thought about adding some embossed designs to reinforce the "knight" theme. I don't think it'll work unless we all integrate it into our own designs. Let me know what you guys think.

Andrew - Silhouettes

First 2 pages are from last Sunday. These next two are new ideas and expansions on revisions of #1. I haven't really applied reference yet, but i'll update that if i get a chance tomorrow.

Jack- Silhouettes and References

Hey guys, this is what I got done today. Somewhat ok with the designs and shapes, but I am having difficulty coming up with interesting shapes and cool shit. This is what I have so far, let me know if anything needs changing, or any advice you guys may have. Excited to work with you guys!

Collette - Silhouettes and Reference sheets

Here are my reference sheets that I'm using. Definitely leaning towards the pitcher plant influence. I've also compiled Mikhail's work onto one image for anyone to use.

Mech Knight Concept / Art Direction

References, art style, inspirations:

Final Goal:
Each Artist will have 1 key art--hero(s) shot with a background

To Create Cohesive style:

- Imagine we are creating extended world of "Mikhail Rakhmatullin" (art style wise)
- Power source symbol (power on/off style with our main shape)
- Power source :
      Electric based: illumination, conductive
      Magnetic based: magnetic force
DO NOTE USE: steam engines or any steam punk style
-levitating floating object or supporting character(s)
- similar color tone:  Slightly subdued, desaturated color scheme.  Try to stay way from using primary colors unless it's an accent color.
- key words: Ancient (characters have been in their land for a long long time), well assimilated, not artificially camouflaged

Andrew
- Tropical Land (wet, hot)
- Environmental elements: birds, insects, tropical plants/trees
- Shape: Circle/triangle
- Color scheme (green/brown, accent: orange)

Abe
- Ocean/sea/shore (wet, cool)
- Environmental elements: rocks with barnacles, waves, seaweed, so on
- Shape: semi-circle with strings or tear drop
- Color scheme (aqua blue, turquoise green, accent: purple-ish)

Collette
- Marshland (wet, warm)
- Environmental elements: carnivorous plants, mud, shrubs, vines, trees, anything else?
- Shape: Circle, triangle --> more like avocado shape, curvy?
- Color Scheme (I forgot your color scheme... so totally guessing here)

Sophie
- High Desert like Mongolia (dry, cold)
- Environmental elements: Rocks, dirt, dried up trees, etc
- Shape: Square
- Color Scheme (Black, brown, accent color: didn't decide yet)
Zack:
- Icy land/mountains (Wet, cold)
- Environmental elements: ice, ice and more ice.  Snow, sharp rocks, dead tress?  icicles
- Shape: triangle
- Color Scheme (White, grey, blue grey,  accent:red)
